    There was a big storm in Ennistymon in the year 1901, the biggest within living memory. This stornoccurred all round the country and houses and trees were blown down in every place. Houses were burned and the roads could not be travelled on for a few days with the amount of trees that were thrown on the. The storm put terror in the hearts of every person and it is so often they recall that dreadful night.
