- Trance is one of the games that we sometimes play. It is very easy to play; we generally play it in the Spring and Summer when the ground is dry.
First of all we get a short piece of stick or a slate and draw a rectangle of six or eight divisions. We draw a straight line through the middle, and three or four across.We get a flat piece of stone or slate if we can. Then we drop it into the first division and hope all round till we come to the stone. Then we pick it up or we sometimes kick it out. Then we throw it into the next division, and so on until we have them all finished. But if we throw it into the wrong division, or hop on the line, we are out, and then our partner starts.
