    The last Hedge-Schoolmaster to teach in the district was dressed in the following manner.

    The last Hedge-Schoolmaster to teach in the district was dressed in the following manner.

    He wore a Caroline hat made from three pounds of wool, a swallow-tail coat cut-away and tight fitting in front and fastened with 3 or 4 Brass buttons, a knee-breeches light-fitting to the calf of the leg also fastened with 3 brass buttons on each leg, bright blue woollen stockings and neat polished brogues.
