  1. (continued from previous page)
Although she is little her family is great.
Rise up landlady and give us a treat.
This is the wren as you may see.
Come foremost on a holly tree,
A bunch of ribbons by her side,
And Bansha boys to be her guide.
We followed this wren all day, all day,
Through muck, through muck through yellow clay,
We beat her blind, till she could not see,
And we brought her home on a holly tree,
The wren, the wren she is the king,
The eagle said she is no such thing,
Up with and down with the pan
Give us our answer and let us be gone
Give us the money and don't mind the beer,
And we wish you a Happy New Year.
