- There were men playing cards every night in a house in the village. It was late when they were going home one night A crowd of them were going up the new line road. They head a terrible noise inside the dich like a flock of sheep running from a wolf. Every time the men stopped the noise ceased, when they would walk again the noise would start again. The men were very frightened and did not know what to do. After a while they got courage they looked inside the ditch but they saw nothing. They began to walk again but the noise was still to be heard. And since then they never played cards.
