  1. A few miles outside the village of Ballyporeen there is a holy well called Tuberindown. This is the story the old people tell about this well.
A poor man who was looking for water to make tea, took a gallon of it from the well. When he went home, he put it on the fire to boil, but it would not boil. The next morning he was looking for more, and he passed down by the well, but it had disappeared. He then went and told the priest the whole story. The priest told him to say the rosary over the spot where the well used to be. The man did so that night, but before the man had the rosary finished, the water began to spring up again.
Crowds of the local people visit this well every Easter Sunday. The rosary is the usual prayer said.
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
