A Story
Eagles are very scarce in this country now. Many centuries ago we had a great many of them. They used to do great damage. They are very cross birds and very strong. One day a man went out the mountain hunting. He saw an eagle and thought he might be able to kill it. He did his best but the eagle stuck his bill in the man's side and he could not release himself from him. He struggled away home with the eagle hanging to his side. His parents released the eagle from him. It is said that the eagle and the palm tree are the longest lives in the world.
