- The Convent and Monastery of Fethard have come in for a fair share of historical research, and much that is of interest and importance about them is happily ours today. Owning to the absence of documents to prove the foundation of the Order in Fethard, it is impossible to fix the precise date, or even to conjecture in what particular century it took place.
