    bread that he could find. He went in to another yard where there was a dog. The man of the house was getting up and when he saw the dogs fighting he put on his shoes, but he did not wait to lace them. He ran out and hit the dog with big stick. The dog ran out and he ran after him. Going out the gate the man lost one of his shoes. He continued going and about a half mile over the road he lost the other. The dog ran in to another house where there was a man and then the two men killed him.
