She came to the house with him and asked for the coulter of a plough, she put it into the fire and heaped peat over it. "As it is getting hotter and hotter I will bring the culprit to the door begging for mercy she said. The people of the house were frightened and after half an hour a neighbouring woman came screaming to take the coulter out of the fire. There was no further trouble with the butter making and within a week the butter was back.
