- There are three kinds of travellers in this distrist - poor people, tinkers, gypsies.
The poor people go from door to door looking for food or alms. They usually come from Bashel.
The Tinkers go from one district to another and have donkey carts or tinker caravans mounted on donkey carts for travelling.
They usually have a string of asses a few goats several dogs and a band of children. These camp in regular haunts when they come to a place.
They usually spend only one night in the place. There is usually sweep and a tinsmith among them.
These earn a few shillings in the neighborhood houses. The womenfolk and children go in bands from house to house begging and pester people asking for at least thirty things.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
