- Fairy forts are very plentiful in this district. There are many legends about these forts. the forts are generally surrounded by stone walls and trees. It is said that whoever would cut the branches off the trees would have no luck.While a farmer in this district was cutting a branch in a fort on his land, the saw broke in the centre, and when the saw broke the man got a hatched to cut the branch and the iron part of the hatched broke also.Another man went out to cut a branch in a fort and his neighbours were urging him not to, but the man persisted on cutting the branch and this day he went to the fort to cut it. When the man had the branch half-cut a small twig fell on his arm and broke it. Fairies are seen in(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
