Signs of rain
1. Soot falling in dry weather but if it falls in wet weather it is a sign of a change.
2 Floors and walls damp in dry weather but if they are damp in wet weather it is a sign of a change.
3 A rainbow in the morning is a shepherd's warning. A rainbow in the night is a shepherd's delight.
4. A halo round the moon and the further it is from the moon the nearer we are to rain.
5 The sun looks pale when setting.
6 The swallows fly very low.
7 If the fog comes down the hill in the morning it is a sign of rain, but if it goes up the hill it is the sign of a fine day.
