- Old Crafts or trades were carried on in this locality in days gone by. There is a forge in Knocknacorriga owned by a man named Collins, whose forefathers carried on a brisk trade in the manufacture of spades, shovels, ploughs, and gates.
Basket-making was carried on in the district until quite lately. Old women used to make the baskets.
There was a very large limekiln in Clogher, about twenty years ago. A man named Patrick O'Donoghue who died about fifteen years ago, that owned the kiln. Lime is still burned in Gurtavalla, by a man named Patrick O'Grady.
