  2. At the back of Callaun Hill in Meenacree, north-east of Cappamore, it is said that there is gold buried, and that there was a man killed there for the sake of minding it. It is said that it was the Danes that hid it there. Before the gold is to be got two men must loss their lives in the getting of it.
    One morning the two Berkery's and a man named O'Toole, started to dig for it. When they had gone down to the sixth flag two frogs appeared adn went back the hill and the men ran away
