  1. There is an old graveyard in the townland of Kile in the parish of Cappamore. There are a lot of trees growing in it. The ruined walls of a monastery are seen in this churchyard.
In former days there were monks living there. They came in the time of the Penal Days. There was a secret passage leading to the Monk's chapel. The entrance to this secret passage can still be seen on the west side of the by road leading to Kile.
The Monastery was raided and destroyed by English soldiers who killed all the monks. The people of the locality buried the monks beside their ruined monastery. There are old tombstones covered with moss in the graveyard. We scraped off some of the moss but we could not find any dates.
