    Knockroe Hill consternation took possession of the local inhabitants, who held a "council of war" that night and having ascertained the object of such an invasion decided to attack the invaders next day.
    Next morning the invaders were put to flight by the Knockaroe men who hoped to procure the treasure for themselves when the Claremen left.
    But although they dug all around the places they found nothing but disappointment and hence they regretted very much that they disturbed the "Invaders" until they discovered the gold.

    Suidheacán Bean-a'-tighe is situated on the western slope of Knockadoon Hills. It is sometimes referred to as the "Housekeeper's Seat".
    It is supposed to be the favourite resort of Áine - the white robed enchantress who is supposed to have appeared to Mr. James Cleary -
