This story which I am going to write about truly happened.

This story which I am going to write about truly happened. My Grandfather was working in the townsland of Carragane. He went cutting turf every morning and used arise very early. But one night he woke up and it was very bright, thinking it was morning he got up, and dressed himself, and prepared his breakfast which consisted of bread and milk, as tea was unknown at that time.
He tackled his horse and went away. As he was passing the village of Kilbehenny all fo the cocks, crew, he didn't mind that, but when he reached the Galtee Castle cross, he noticed a big crowd of men and their horses. But as he was moving towards them they became all white and queer looking, and his horse began shivering, and would not move a stir.
He got a terrible shock and nearly lost his senses. The horse became worse and shivered like anything again. My Grandfather looked straight after the (man) men and to his surprise what did he see but the men going up towards the sky and they tumbling down and going up again. They went up in the end and vanished like a flash of lightning.
The horse then began to move and he continued his trotting again. When he came to the nearest house he asked what time it was and it was only two o'clock in the morning, and they gave him lodging for the remainder of the night
