    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    There was a great famine all over Ireland in the year 1847. It affected this district greatly.
    The chief causes that led to the famine were (1) the potato crop failed and (2) hundreds of cows died.
    For many years before the famine the people depended greatly on the potato-crop for food and it never failed to give them sufficient.
    This district was thickly populated before the famine.
    People lived then in houses that are now in ruins.
    In the year 1847 the potato crop failed and the people had scarcely anything to eat but cattle and grass. They drew
