I am a cake from Ballybake, I ran away from two old maids...

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
find out if it was known locally here, either literally or by way of variant. here below, and as forwarded to the Folklore Commission is the result of my questing:
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.

I am cake, I come from Ballybake All the ways I came today...

    1. From Dick O'Donnell, 13 1/2. Dalta Scoile, who got the rann from Johnnie Tierney, aged 82 years.
I am a cake, I come from Ballybake
All the ways I came today
And this is all I have to say:
This is a glorious day to bake
But I'll be back to Ballybake.
The old man does not remember any of the "chain-story", only the rann.
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
