    backward into the orchard he was seized by the poll and the seat of his trousers and thrown clear out into the adjoining field. He had long since parted with his 'bag' of apples. He rushed in to the house, terrified, and told his story. The following day, the tailor's 'bag' was found high and dry and empty on the hedge of the orchard. Although the imprint of the tailor's hands, face and knees were quite clearly visible in the soil on which he was flung, the strange thing is he was not in the least hurt. (there is a good well right beside the scene of the tailor's fall and indications of a habitation and fences are apparent there too).
    In the same field and at a distance of 400 yards northwest of the well mentioned above, is another well which had until a couple of weeks ago a large ash tree standing over it. The tree has been cut down. This well had at one time the reputation of being a very 'airy' place but I cannot get any "local knowledge" about it. My only informant on the matter is Bean Micel U Coniubain Rai Caola. She lived near it as a child some 40 years ago. Close to this well are mounds as of wall and house foundations. A few only recognize them as the "Colonel's Stables". I can get no information concerning this same colonel.
