  1. How Creagan - na- h-ola got its name.
    There is a graveyard situated west of Adare. It is called Creagan na-h-ola, which means the hill of the oil.
    It is told in the district that oil flowed from a tree in the graveyard. Many of the old traditions tells us that one day a man was found lying near the gate of the graveyard, he was dying. Someone passing by, and seeing him dying, then went immediately for the priest. He met the priest on the way. He came to the dying man, but he had no oil to anoint him. At that time, oil flowed from the tree
