[Diagram] This is representation of stone in the ruined church of Tankardstown, formerly a parish of 200 acres. Long ago the last church - which was thatched - was burned by a man who was said to have withered after. - Hempenstall was a cruel yoeman captain who travelled around here in 1798. He was remarkably tall and strong and used to hang people by swinging them over his shoulder. A local legend says his(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
