    1. Dandelion Tea :- get leaves and stems, boil them and strain mixture, when it is ready to drink.

    2. Augermoney Tea :- is made out of the leaves and stems in the same manner as dandelion tea.
    3. Geownchakawn was made from boiled wheat and eaten like rice.
    4. Potatoes and milk was the chief diet in this locality up to the time of the famine. Then boiled meal flavoured with salt was used. Another relished food was griddle bread.
    5. Starch was made from potatoes. These were grated, boiled and strained.The water was used after it had been standing overnight.
    6. Peeled rushes steeped in tallow or grease were used to give light before the advent of candle
    7. Bourhawn or dry cow manure was gather, dried and used in the same way as turf.
    8. Courduroy trousers used to look very white when washed, to darken them they were washed in hay water.
    9. Ivy leaves boiled remove stains.
    10. Dye is made from furze flowers and briar roots.
