  1. Many years ago there was a servant boy who used to go to a little house at the end of the passage every night. There was an old woman living in the little house.
One May Eve night the boy went there as usual but found the place empty. The boy went home and told the farmer that the cow that was sick was better. The farmer went out with the boy and they saw a woman with two spancels tied to the rafters and she milking them into a bucket. The farmer said nothing but put a piece into the calves mouths.
The very minute he did so the woman could get no more milk. After awhile she went away.
