Long ago the people were great for playing hurling and football.
once Dromcollogher went to play Newcastle. This is the way they play football. The two teams go half way and then throw up the ball and the team that would bring home the ball would be the winnders.
Dromcollogher went half way to Newcastle and Newcastle came to the half-way line, and they they threw up the ball, and Dromcollogher brought it home, then Dromcollogher were the winners. There was no exact number. They made their own hurleys out of white thorn bushes and ash trees. the kind of ball they used was a solid one.
