  1. There is no tailor in my district now but there is one in Carrickerry, whose name is Griffin. There are lots of tailors in Newcastle West also. They all work in their homes, but long ago some tailors used go round from house to house working. The cloth they work on is not spun or woven locally.
    All the clothes which the local people wear are all made by the local tailors. A tailor when working needs a lot of implements. First of all, he must have cloth, he must have a needle and thread, a thimble, a stool, chalk, a scissors and a thing for marking out button holes, which is called a nippers.
    There are a lot of traditions and sayings connected with tailors and tailoring. This is an old saying, it took sixteen tailors
