Dunganville,
Ardagh,
Co. Limerick.Local heroes.Daniel O'Connel and Mrs mary Condon of dunganville, won fame by being able to take 45 stone of wheat on their backs from the room out through the kitchen, and put it up single hand on a car. John Ambrose, of Ardagh was a great oarsman. Dennis Carmody from Monashinnagh was supposed to be the best walker. He used to walk from Ardagh to Cork city with his ferkin of butter on his back, and back again on the one day.Dennis O'Connel was a very good mower. He used mow an acre of land in a day. Mary O'Connor was a lovely singer and her favourite song was "An cailin a cruidte na mbo".Told by my grandfather.
