Local Story Of A Weasel.

A number of men were employed in knocking a rick of corn for thrashing.
In the middle of it they found a weasel's nest, and several young one in it.
The finder carefully put the nest on the side of the haggard, out of reach of the other men.
The mother weasel came, and finding the nest gone, went directly into the farmer's kitchen. On the table were piggins of milk, ready for the men's dinner.
The weasel got on to the table, and spat into each one. The woman of the house watched the weasel, and meant to empty the vessels, but forgot.
Before the men came in, they saw the weasel again. This time she was near the nest. She left and again went into the house. She leaped on to the table, and spilled every one of the piggins of milk. All the men were saved from poisoning.
