  1. A Story.
    One night about 1 a.m. a neighbour of mine John Wallace was going to the fair of Listowel and when he was about a mile from Newtown he was met by a brown-haired woman. He had a load of bonhams and when he arrived in Listowel nobody put a price on them and he came home again without selling one of them. From that day forward he would not like to come across a red-haired woman.
