- A terrible snow-storm occurred on the third of February eighteen hundred and ninety two. While this snowstorm lasted people nearly starved because the snow was so high, that they could not go to the market for food. People had to make paths through the snow in order to find lost animals. Several sheep were lost belonging to Mr Hennessy Knockane. When the snow melted a lot of animals were found dead belonging to Mr Walsh of Carrignashinna.
