  1. About a mile outside Cloyne stands the ruin of a castle, which is called Castlemary. it is about two hundred years old, and about twenty years derelict. It is in the townland of Castlemary, Barony of Imokilly, and in Cork County. It was burned by the IRA during the War of Irish Independence by British Military. There are many caves underneath the castle.

  2. There is a ruin of an old Castle in Castlemary. It is so old nobody knows who built it. It is in the parish of Cloyne the Barony of Immokilly Co. Cork. It was besieged by the I.R.A. men not very long ago. They besieged it because Mr Longfield refused to give them enough money when they were collecting. There are many caves underneath the Castle.
