- Long ago people cured their ailments without ever attending to a doctor.
Toothaches were cured by panting the gum with Iodine or oil. Now they put pepper or salt into the aching tooth. Sometimes they take a sup of whiskey and keep it in the mouth for a few minutes.
Earaches were cured by dipping wadding in whiskey or in Olive oil and put it into the ear and let it there for some time.
Headache's were cured by dipping a cloth in hot water and put it up to the head.
A sore throat was cured by putting the stocking you had on you that day around your neck that night and you would be cured in the morning.
Some people visit holy Wells to obtain the cure of rheumatism.
