Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Stories are told in every country in the world about fairies. The Leipreachan is the best known of the fairies and is sometimes called the fairy cobbler. He is about the height of a mans thumb. He wears a green suit a red hat and a pair of brown shoes with painted toes turning up. He lives in forts and in fairyland.
    Some people say that when the good and the bad angels were fighting there were some of the angels who took no part so god put them down on earth as angels. Other people say that when the Tuatha De Danaen were beaten by the Milesians they turned themselves into fairies and they live in the forts.
    One evening a man saw him sitting under a dockleave mending a shoe. He stole behind him and told him he would not leave him go unless he gave him his gold. As they went along the Leipreachan said to the man to look behind him. The man did so and the Leipreachan vanished from his sight. They are friendly. One day they cured cows for a man.
    They put an imitation of a face and eyes in a farmers potatoe. There are other kinds of fairies such as the Phuca, the Banshee, and Will-O-The-Wisp. The Phuca is a fairy horse. On moonlight nights he can be seen in the fields. If you will not go upon his back, the next night he sees you he will
