A rainbow at night is a shepherd's delight.
A clear blue sky is a sign of good weather. If the sun sinks red in the west good weather is to be expected. If there is a white halo around the moon, or if the moon is lying on its back, wet weather is to be expected. It is a sign of good weather to hear the rivers roaring by night.
When the stars are glittering frosty weather is expected. It is a sign of rain to see the smokey clouds coming to the ground.
Crows fly together in batches and swoop up and down at intervals when a storm is coming.
When the wind is blowing from the north we are about to have frost or snow. The south wind brings most rain to this district.
The birds fly inland and the animals seek shelter about the farm,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
