In Twomey's farm gold ornaments were found about 25 years also bronze weapons and amber beads, as if buried with some hero of the past.
It was when fencing a labourer's plot that these were found. The new fence was run slant-wise across a very ancient bank, the remains of a very old fence probably thousands of years old. Where the two intersected was found the treasure beside a stone and between 1½ to 2 feet from the surface, down an incline and across a stream in a marshy place is a sort of mound higher than the surrounding marsh. It would be worth a visit from an archeologist. as probably the mound may be a Fenian Camping ground. or a crannóg.
