    One day a young lad was out in the fields working. He saw a doony man not the height of his hand under a pookapile mending shoes. He went over and never took his eyes off him for he was indread he would disappear. He made a grab for him and lifted him up and put him in his pocket. Then he ran home as fast as his legs would carry him. When he had the doony man safe at home he tied him with a chain to the hob. Then the boy said "Tell me where I am to find a pot of gold or I'ill beat you well". Then the doony man said "I know of no pot of gold but let me go away to finish the mending of the shoes". Then I'ill make you tell me said the lad. Then he put down a big fire and put the little man on it and scorched him. But the doony man said take me off take me off and I'ill tell you. Under the pookapile
