- It is said that there was a man once coming to KiIlavullen to hear Mass, and when he came Teine Spride he looked up the mountain side and saw a big "crock of gold".
He was very much astonished because he was a stranger. He went up the side of the mountain to get the crock. He was a miser, and he wanted all the gold for himself.
He put a red garter around the crock and went away to mass thinking he would get the crock going home from mass. After mass he went up the mountain and was just about to take the crock of gold when a fierce bull hunted him.
