- Con Duggan was a Nailer by trade He worked int he village of Ballyclough and he lived in different places int he village from time to time and ended his life in the house where Miss Burke has her shop now. He had a little forge down at the end of the village for a long time and afterwards he had his forge at the corner of the shed when Phil Moloney had a stone cutter;s shop. This shed or shop was at the back of a house which has recently been built by Den OKeefe Creamery Manager. Con Duggan used to buy the iron from which the nails were maid in Mallow and he also got a good deal of his raw material by going out at night and stealing wire from the neighbouring fences. He made several types of nails for carpenters. Some of these were called "Invisible Nails" and were used in ceiling boards. He made boot nails for all the boot makers around the district including my grandfather. He made big nails for mensstrong boots and he called the "Pavers" He made a smaller(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
