- Extra: It is unlucky to begin ploughing or house building or to change from house to house on the 1st Monday of the month. Potatoes are planted between March 26th & April 19th. Otherwise they would not grow so well.
- On May morning farmers fear that a wicked neighbour (generally a woman) may come to milk their cows & thus derive the benefit of the fat of the milk for the year. It is supposed that evil people throw dead calves into the lands of their neighbours on May morning in order to bring misfortune on the owners' stock.
