   Local Place Names
   There are several fields around our district which derive their names from some events which happened there or from their[?] being owned by some people in bygone days. On the Road to Limerick on the left hand side there is a field which is called "The Circus' Field" and its owners is Mr. Daune of Chapel Street. On the Cork Road there is a small stream known as the "Glen Stream" and the houses on both sides of this are known as: "The Glen Houses." Not far from Kilfinane there is a hollow called "Sleeping Hollow."
   The old fashioned village of Ballingarry nestles beneath "Cnoc Samna
