I With a heart all free from sadness, I recently did roam Those well known paths of gladness from school returning home. Still hoping that as usual I'd be greeted warmly be At the home of my dear parents where I can but seldom. II But when I reached my dwelling too plainly I could know Those once blythe hearts were swelling neath pangs of direful woe. I learned twas our pastor who departed recently. Our earthly saint as any such beings on earth can be III The Revrd Father Cotter whose fame so widely spread. Who many a blessing scattered upon each sinners head.
