    Fattening of pigs a very big source of income. Most farmers keep at least 2 Sows. Rear bonhams which are usually farrowed in kitchen and kept there for a few days and very carefully tended. No one - not even Cartin of Buachaill [?] seem to object to "stay up minding the bonhams" Pig market every fortnight in Charleville a very good market and the [?] [?[ is taken in same. Pigs sent by lorry (Twohills) to Kantoger, Broadford, or Cork or Limerick. It is remarkable the intelligence displayed by the ordinary farmer.
