  1. The townland in which I am living in is Brittas, the parish is Kilshannig, and the barony is Duhallow. The district is fairly big and it contains fourteen families. There are about seventy people in the townland. The most common name is "Cronin". All the houses are slated except about three which are tiled and one thatched. There were many more houses in the district long ago, but lately three new houses have been built.
    I could not find out how the townland got the name of Brittas.
