Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)about ninety. The houses are all slated except one which is thatched. The National School though built in the middle of Brittas is called Glantane school. The land is generally rich and fertile and produces good crops of wheat and beet but in wet seasons the sowing of the crops is retarded where the land is low lying.
One of the houses - Mr Frank Roche's is called Army Villa because in the time of the Whiteboys it was occupied by British Soldiers. The lawn in front of the house is surrounded by trees - beech on the north and black fir on the other three sides. One of those fir trees at the west of the house is called "Scofield's Tree" and the local tradition is that it was used as a scaffold when the house was in the occupation of the military and that the proper name for the tree "Scaffold Tree".
