  1. (continued from previous page)
    Then I wander through Newberry by the Green-Road,
    Till I come on to Bettsborough, that peaceful abode,
    The home of Tom Russell, our patriot bold;
    Mid the martyrs of Erin his name is enrolled.
    Through the windings of Tullera without mansion or lawn,
    Your mind is enraptured when you gaze on Glantane,
    That dear peaceful village with its homes full of cheer,
    Perfumed by the odour of Murphy's strong beer.
    Then roam along Skarragh and sweet Shanavoher,
    Through lone Knockavadra where the green plovers hover,
    Till you come to that hamlet so fair to be seen,
    The home of the wanderer, Beeing, lovely Beeing.
    While I gaze in gay pleasure upon mountain and dell,
    There's a land famed for beauty which none can excel -
    The home of my childhood. May I ne'er see the morrow
    If I'd live as an exile from my own Lackandarra.
