Before my grandfather came to live in Lombardstown a man named Peddy Peters lived where my father is living in now.
This man had a charm for the cure of farcy in horses.
The Parish Priest when told about it, warned the people in one of his sermons to have nothing to do with charms or those who practised them.
It happened that the Priest's horse got the farcy soon after this. While the priest was saying Mass one morning his man took the horse to Peddy Peters who cured him.
Somebody afterwards told the Priest what his own man had done, but though much surprised, he kept on the man and horse, and said no more about Peddy Peters.
