    of Duhallow, Co Cork, in olden times. People got their wheat ground in the local mills. I never heard of querns or grind-stones being used in this district.
    Milk was added in kneading. Bread was baked every day. A cross was cut on top of the cake, and a little hole in the middle of the cake, to let the air go through it. The bread was baked in a bastable.
