    Connell was burned. He went to bed under the influence of drink; and left a candle lighting. He went to sleep. When the candle burned out, the table caught fire; and soon the house was on fire. He had a very narrow escape; but he was dragged out in time. Four houses were burned.

    At Allenbridge a shocking disaster occurred on th 18th July, 1926, when a great flood swept the country, and three lovely children were drowned. They were Jeremiah and Mary(twins) aged seven and their brother Liam Fitzgerald aged five. The children were sleeping peacefully in their home which was situated between two rivers - one, the Dallow, and a smaller one, the Ramp. A bridge spans the river on either
