- Country shops were common in former times as well as now a days. People went to these shops to make purchases. People often took eggs in payment for these goods.
Buying and selling was also carried on after Mass. In shops this was carried on.
In the case of selling cattle such words as "boot" were used. They used give "boot" that was money given back to the person who would buy the cattle, this was given for luck.
Some people would never pay for goods on a Monday, because if they did they would be spending money for the week.
Markets were also held in former times in town, they were usually held, they are held there to the present day.
Dealers in feathers visited this district also, they would buy feathers from country(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
